“Creating A Climate For Change” Conference 2016

This week has been a busy one already! As I prepare to go to the nation’s capitol this weekend, I have various strings to tie so I won’t come back home to a complete mess. We have officially began preparations for our conference on June 9th. I spent the majority of my day yesterday relearning WordPress as I got the conference website put together; it’s so strenuous! It finally looks halfway decent, probably even better than my site.

The “Creating a Climate for Change” Conference brings together community leaders, environmental justice organizations, regional and national networks, and conservation groups to work on issues dealing with climate change, equity, environmental justice, new economic opportunities, and various other topics in the form of panels, individual speakers, and small discussion groups. The primary focus is low income and people of color communities, who are impacted the most by climate.

This event is hosted by Kingdom Living Temple, based out of Florence, South Carolina. Although the agenda isn’t yet finalized, there are already groups set to participate, including ACEEE, USCAN, WE ACT for Environmental Justice, and the newly formed SC Environmental Justice Network. There will be plenty more participants to come. Registration is $15 dollars and is required to attend.
